Can you SEE IT?

I have been struggling with fear a lot lately.  This is amazing to me because I have always been fearless.  When God speaks I listen, and I move.  This time, my mouth was moving, but my feet were stuck in cement filled buckets.

Embarking on this new season in life has been very overwhelming.  The uncertainty about the future has brought tons of fear, and fear has paralyzed me from accomplishing the vision.

I have been blessed with many talents, and each talent catapults me to a new season.  This new season of what God is calling me to walk in is so great that fear has blocked my transition. I have been praying.  I have been trying to push through it with the old adage “fake it until you make it.”  Nothing is working.  I find myself in the fetal position in bed.

Today I woke up inspired, invigorated, and enthusiastic about my transition.  I began to work at my to do list, and before I knew it ten things was crossed off.  I asked myself – what changed?  As I looked back to assess, I noticed that my view was different.  I realized that when I looked back before I was looking back, and holding on because I was afraid of what was ahead of me.

This is what happens during transition, we get stuck between our past and our future.  It’s not that we want to stay in our past, but that it’s comfortable, and convenient.  We know all about it, we have all the photos to remind us what what we did, and how we did it.  The future is unknown, and inconvenient – we don’t know anything about it except a glimpse of a desired outcome.  In order to get to the future we need new photos to motivate us, and help us navigate through our transition.

So let’s get the magazines out, get on the internet and print out the pictures, scriptures, and inspiring words to create a “TransVision” board that helps us to SEE IT!  It’s not too late to start working on your goals today.  Transition can be terrifying, but when we can SEE IT we can accomplish it.

A “TransVision” board will help us to transition from vision to sight.  It’s the words, and pictures that will help us keep moving through our transition.  Because if we stop we will never SEE IT.

When we SEE IT, we believe it, we work at it, we accomplish it.  Psalm 121 says

I lift up my eyes to the mountains—
where does my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord,
the Maker of heaven and earth.

When I look up to the Lord He shows me the vision, He’s all the help I need, and I have to write it down and make it clear. (Habakkuk 2:2)

Write it down, make it clear – in place where you can SEE IT, work it, and watch it happen!

Go get everything God has for you, for your latter will be greater than your past.

Build and Embrace Momentum

Momentum is a combination of mindset and faith; faith in God and faith in yourself.

In order to build and embrace momentum you must have three things:

  1. Vision – “Write the vision; make it plain on tablets, so he may run who reads it.” (Habakkuk 2:2 ESV) Writing the vision down gives you something tangible to work on.  Create a six word description so it’s easy to remember.  Place it where you can see it daily.
  2. Strategy – write the steps/actions needed to achieve the vision. This is your “To Do” list to work on it daily.  Focus on it, aim at it, and check off completed actions.  Opportunity is everywhere, you have to be alert.  Know that God is with you always, in all ways.
  3. DRIVE – Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. (Galatians 6:9 NIV)  Keep pushing daily, at the the proper time you will accomplish the vision.  Perseverance may be painful, yet rewarding.  With every step you are getting closer – DON’T GIVE UP – YOU WILL WIN!

Embracing momentum is your ability to move in the moment with power, strength, and the pace needed to fulfill the vision.  Fear is no longer an option, and there is no obstacle you cannot overcome.  As you complete each action item, your confidence is boosted, and your faith becomes unshakeable.  Your moving full speed ahead to the finish line.

Also, journal about your journey.  Writing about the journey will identify what worked, what didn’t work, and show you your strengths and weaknesses.  How you use your power, and the pace in which you work.

Momentum is more than a feeling; it’s what you do.  Go for it – YOUR GOING TO WIN!

The PESTS Remember

I was having a conversation with someone who recently had some work done on their car.  This repair was something out of the blue, and it wasn’t something they could put off. The person said to me that they were grateful to God because they received a check in the mail that they forgot was coming, so they were able to get the repairs done, and not take the money from their “budget.”  In that moment I realized – the PESTS remember.

We are creatures of habit, most of us handle life the same way all the time.  We have an inherent way of resolving and processing.  Even though in our minds we think we are doing, and expecting something different to happen.   We approach, process, and resolve the same way – over, and over again.

Because of this ritualistic approach, the PESTS remember how we move, think, and act.  They are waiting for us to approach from the same position, with the same mindset, and with the same course of actions.  So they can jump in and devour what should be a blessing.

What are PESTS?  People, Excuses, Situations, and Things that come to steal, kill, and destroy God’s blessings, and plans.  The enemy uses People, Excuses, Situations, and Things to get us off track, hinder our progress, and prevent us from doing, or enjoying  God’s will, plan, and purpose for us.

In order to throw the PESTS off their game, we need to do three things:

  1. Release – our old thinking, our old ways, our old view.  See our circumstances in real time, and move seeking the Lord for direction.  Matthew 6:33 says Seek first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness.
  2. Refuel – fill up on the word of God so we have strength to overcome every obstacle. We cannot continue to run on empty, we need the word for direction, to fight, and to win.  We are more than conquered through Christ Jesus.  Romans 8:31-39
  3. Reroute – choose a different process.  When we resolve life using the same formula – the PESTS remember.  Go a different way, approach it differently, and the PESTS will be lost and confused.  They remember our old man, but we are now in Christ, therefore we are a NEW CREATION!   2 Corinthians 5:17  Good bye 2017, it’s time to do 2018 a NEW way!
